Robberson, Nelson & McKenzie
Congratulations to Class of ’75 alum Tod Robberson who, along with Dallas Morning News colleagues Colleen McCain Nelson and William McKenzie, won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing.

The prize is awarded for “distinguished editorial writing, the test of excellence being clearness of style, moral purpose, sound reasoning, and power to influence public opinion in what the writer conceives to be the right direction, in print or online or both.” The three were specifically commended “for their relentless editorials deploring the stark social and economic disparity between the city’s better-off northern half and distressed southern half.”

The prize was announced on April 12 and will be presented at a luncheon at Columbia University in New York City on May 24.

All are invited to register for dinner and a golf tournament on April 17 at Cypress Lakes Golf Club that classmates of the Class of 1969 have organized in order to raise scholarship funds for current Spring Woods seniors in honor of “deceased classmates from all classes.” There’s still a little time left to register, but please register ASAP:

Sorry for the late notice, but we only just learned from Jamie Carter Bollich (1970) that tomorrow, Saturday, March 27, there will be a lunch with former SWHS teachers Hazel Layne, Marilyn Stout and Kathryn Mikeska at 1:00 p.m. at Maggiano's on Post Oak in the Galleria area. Jamie is uncertain whether or not Hazel Layne will be there because of her health, but Marilyn Stout is coming for sure.
If you attend, please bring your camera and share your photos on our Facebook fan page.
